Good Measure

Brasinola plays the music of Brazil's Tropicalia movement with a New Orleans rhythm underneath. The band draws on the late 1960s and 1970s heyday of that Brazilian sound -- its blend of samba, funk, folk, and psychedelia -- while grounding everything in the feel of the city where they perform. As bassist and co-founder Ron Johnson has put it, "the NOLA in our name is the foot of the New Orleans drummer." A longtime presence on the city's club circuit, the band first made their name at the Maple Leaf Bar and have been a Frenchmen Street fixture since. Full bar on-site. No check-in required. A commanding New Orleans frontman fresh off a debut performance in the WWOZ Jazz Tent at Jazz Fest 2026. His band, James Jordan and the Situation, released their debut album Reflections earlier this year. Tonight Jordan leads a special sextet configuration featuring Robbie Wallace. Arsene DeLay and Charlie Wooton are a New Orleans duo whose music draws from jazz, blues, funk, zydeco, rock, and hip-hop, anchored by DeLay's powerhouse vocals and Wooton's masterful bass work. Their album Blue Basso, re-released by Deco Records in 2024, showcases the chemistry and range that have made them one of the city's most compelling collaborative pairings. A high-energy R&B, funk, and soul band led by drummer-turned-vocalist Thomas Glass, whose performance credits include Jon Cleary, Jelly Joseph, and Kenny Lattimore. The Smack City All-Stars take audiences on a journey through the eras of classic R&B, heavy funk, and vintage soul, with a powerhouse backing vocal group known as the Smack Mamas. A New Jersey-born vocalist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist now based in New Orleans. Their musical style draws from jazz, neo-soul, alternative pop, and psychedelic rock, with frequent comparisons to Norah Jones and Lianne La Havas. Jordan released their debut EP Sing to the Moon in 2023 and their debut full-length album PERFECT BE THE ENEMY in May 2026. A rising Cuban pianist from Camaguey who moved to New Orleans in 2019 after training at Cuba's National School of the Arts. His style blends Cuban jazz, timba, New Orleans funk, and classical piano.
