DESCRIPTION:The Majik Feelings are a condensed configuration of the long-running New Orleans collective Gov’t Majik\, led by bassist and co-founder Bru Bruser and fronted by vocalist Ten Spencer. Gov’t Majik is self-described as “The Dirty South Afro-Beat Arkestra\,” blending the music of Fela Kuti and other Afrobeat and Afrofunk pioneers with the funk\, jazz\, rap\, and rock and roll of New Orleans\, landing somewhere between Fela\, OutKast\, and Kool & the Gang. Founded in 2005\, the band made their Jazz Fest debut in 2007 and returned to the festival stage in 2026. Their new album\, also titled The Majik Feelings\, is due out this fall.
