DESCRIPTION:Watson’s Theory is the project of New Orleans drummer\, bandleader\, and educator Jermal Watson\, whose career began in church at age six and has since taken him across the world as a performer and clinician. Watson studied under some of the city’s most respected rhythm masters\, including Russell Batiste of the Funky Meters\, and has built a reputation for crossing the boundaries of gospel\, jazz\, R&B\, and funk with a versatility that keeps him in constant demand on the New Orleans scene. \nJoining Watson is featured vocalist Mecca Notes\, a New Orleans-based singer\, journalist\, and educator of Nigerian and New Orleanian heritage. Known for her work with the Brass-A-Holics and as curator of the Jammin’ Session series\, Mecca Notes brings a rich\, expressive voice and a deep connection to the city’s musical community. \nFull bar on-site. \nNo check-in required. \nEntry is free\, with standing room and some seating at first come\, first serve basis. \nDoors open at 9 pm.
